HCMC – The Government has told the second campus of Bach Mai Hospital and that of Viet-Duc University Hospital in Ha Nam Province to be put into operation before November 30.
The Government Office has issued a notice summarizing Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long’s conclusions following his working visits to the two long-stalled hospital projects.
Long hailed the Ministry of Health and related agencies for their coordination in restarting the projects to alleviate hospital overcrowding, remove hindrances, prevent the waste of resources, and ensure their completion within this year.
He instructed relevant ministries and agencies to expedite the completion and handover of both hospitals. The Ministry of Health, investors, and related units must allocate resources efficiently and accelerate progress to meet the November 30 deadline.
The Ministry of Health, the investor, and relevant agencies have been urged to collaborate in resolving any arising issues. The investor must finalize the cost projection files for mechanical and electrical components, submit them to the Ministry of Construction for review, and provide a report by March 3.
Additionally, the Ministry of Health has instructed Viet Duc Hospital and Bach Mai Hospital to coordinate in construction, equipment procurement, and workforce preparation to ensure immediate operations upon project completion.
Work began in late 2014 on the second campuses of Bach Mai Hospital and Viet Duc Hospital, with each requiring over VND4.9 trillion.
The second campus of Bach Mai Hospital is designed to have 1,000 inpatient beds and a total built-up area of 118,941 square meters, while Viet Duc University Hospital’s second facility totaling 117,714 square meters will also have 1,000 beds.
