HCMC – Hoang Anh Gia Lai JSC (HAGL), whose HAG shares are listed on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, has decided to dissolve its subsidiary Kon Thup Agriculture JSC in the Central Highlands city of Pleiku, Gia Lai Province.
The subsidiary has been inactive for an extended period, HAGL said.
Kon Thup Agriculture was formed on December 28, 2023 through the acquisition of part of the assets, rights, and obligations from Gia Lai Livestock JSC, another subsidiary of HAGL. HAGL held an 88.03% stake of Kon Thup Agriculture and Tay Nguyen Agricultural Services LLC 9.5%.
HAGL’s financial report for the third quarter of 2024 listed Kon Thup Agriculture among three subsidiaries still in the investment phase, with no active business as of September 30. The other two are Hoan Thinh Attapeu and HAGL Vientiane.
The company has recently made progress in debt repayment, clearing VND1.03 trillion in principal of the bonds issued to BIDV in 2016. Payments included VND206 billion on December 26 and VND824 billion on December 30, 2024.
Closing the trading session today, January 9, HAG edged up 0.84% to VND11,950, with a trading volume of nearly 2.2 million shares.
The VN-Index lost 5.25 points, or 0.42%, to end at 1,245.77 points today, with 126 winners and 263 losers.
Total trading volume reached 336.2 million shares valued at VND7.51 trillion, down 25% in volume and 26% in value over the previous session. Block deals accounted for 45.8 million shares worth VND869.9 billion.
HDB was the most actively traded stock with a matching volume of over 18.3 million shares, but it dropped 4.08% to VND22,350 per share.
APG was the only stock to hit its ceiling price, rising to VND6,680 with 270,000 shares changing hands. On the other hand, YEG plunged to its floor price of VND15,850 due to strong selling pressure, with 5.8 million shares traded and 740,000 shares unsold at the floor price.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index moved sideways with a minimal increase of 0.03% to close at 221.94 points. Trading volume reached 33.9 million shares valued at VND479.3 billion. The session saw 65 stocks rising and 73 others declining on the northern market.
