HCMC – The northern province of Hai Duong plans to develop Kinh Mon Commune into its second logistics center at a total cost of VND1.4 trillion.

At a meeting on June 28, the provincial government discussed the investment proposal. The project will be located in Minh Hoa Commune, Kinh Mon Town, covering 348,000 square meters. Operations are expected to begin in 2027.

The center will include a petroleum port and a cargo port with three berths: one for petroleum and two for container and bulk cargo. It will accommodate ships with a capacity of up to 3,500 DWT (deadweight tonnage) and include a fuel depot with a capacity of 48,000 cubic meters.

The logistics center will also feature a mixed-service commercial area of 32,850 square meters. It will primarily serve domestic and import-export cargo, including containers, agricultural products, and bulk materials. The center’s location will connect National Highway 5 and link with Haiphong Port via the Cam River.

In addition to the Kinh Mon project, Hai Duong has approved another logistics center and inland waterway port in Ninh Giang District. These investments aim to enhance the province’s logistics infrastructure and support economic growth.
