HCMC – Authorities in the northern province of Hai Duong have confiscated more than 3,700 ready-to-eat products without invoices and documentation of origin.
Law enforcement agencies in Hai Duong conducted a snap inspection of a business operated by Nguyen Thi Minh Thu on Nguyen Van Linh Street, Thanh Binh Ward, Hai Duong City. The inspection uncovered over 3,700 ready-to-eat products packed in plastic bags with foreign-language labels. The items were sold at low prices, typically under VND10,000 each, targeting school-age children.
The products were labeled with names such as BBQ beef steak, grilled buffalo steak, mini Tibetan-style beef, marinated beef, spicy fish fillets, spicy fish cakes, seafood tofu, stuffed squid, stir-fried pork cartilage, and grilled mushroom-wrapped meat. These snacks are reportedly popular among children.
At the time of inspection, none of the items had invoices or documents verifying their origin. Authorities have temporarily seized the goods pending further investigation and legal action.
