HCMC – Nearly 2,000 AI-powered cameras in Hanoi City have detected and processed more than 19,300 traffic violations after three months of operation, police reported.
The system has been in use since December 13, 2025, to monitor traffic safety and support congestion management in the capital.
According to Hanoi police, all violations were documented and notices were issued to offenders. Authorities adjusted traffic signal cycles 446 times at 188 intersections.
Vehicle flow through these junctions improved by 4% to over 18%, based on police data.
The camera system has also identified more than 1,000 cases related to urban order and environmental sanitation, with images provided to local authorities for enforcement.
In addition, 22 “green wave” corridors have been maintained on major roads such as Pho Hue–Hang Bai, Ba Trieu, Tran Hung Dao and Nguyen Van Cu. The synchronized traffic lights allow vehicles to move through multiple intersections without stopping.
Since January 1, 2026, authorities have piloted a fully digital process for handling administrative violations via the iHanoi application. A total of 7,810 cases have been processed through the platform.
