HCMC – The People’s Committee of Hanoi City has approved a VND1.6-trillion power transmission project aimed at strengthening the city’s electricity infrastructure, according to local media reports.
The project involves constructing a 220kV transmission line connecting the 500kV Dong Anh and Van Tri substations. The National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) has been designated as the investor. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2025, with the line expected to become operational by 2026.
Designed to address the city’s growing electricity demand, the transmission line will enhance grid stability and minimize energy losses. The project is part of the national grid development plan, Hanoi authorities stated.
The transmission line will traverse areas in Dong Anh and Me Linh districts, including Uy No, Dong Anh Town, and Quang Minh Town.
The investor is required to adhere to regulations concerning land use, construction, and environmental protection. Relevant city departments and local governments will supervise and facilitate the project’s implementation.
