HCMC – Hanoi City will start work on eight projects from October 5 to 10 to mark the 71st anniversary of the capital’s Liberation Day on October 10, 1954, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
The projects include the Le Hong Phong Cadre Training School, the second facility of Hanoi Kidney Hospital, the Ngoc Trai Theater and a themed cultural park, and the Nam Thang Long–Tran Hung Dao section of Metro Line No. 2.
The metro project will be launched at Xuan Dinh depot, along with the announcement of the detailed plan for C9 station and site clearance for the eastern square and park by Hoan Kiem Lake.
Other projects are the Tran Hung Dao Bridge, including the northern approach road and a connecting ramp, an underpass at the Co Linh intersection in Long Bien Ward, the Thuong Cat Bridge with approach roads, and a riverside park along the To Lich River.
City authorities have asked departments and investors to complete legal procedures and ensure construction schedules.
Of the eight projects, the Le Hong Phong School, Hanoi Kidney Hospital’s second facility, the Co Linh underpass, and the Thuong Cat Bridge will be implemented under construction tenders.
Metro Line No. 2 and the Hoan Kiem square and park will begin at the same time, combined with the announcement of the C9 station plan. For the Tran Hung Dao Bridge, the city has approved using public investment capital for the northern approach road and ramp package while reporting to the prime minister on changes to the project’s public-private partnership model.
The To Lich riverside park project will be reviewed by the Department of Finance before being submitted to the city’s People’s Council this month. The People’s Committee of Tay Ho Ward has been tasked with accelerating land clearance for the Ngoc Trai Theater and cultural park to ensure infrastructure connections in the area.
