HCMC – Passenger train services on the Hanoi-Lao Cai route have resumed today, September 23, following a suspension due to the impact of typhoon Yagi, the Vietnam Railways Corporation announced.
The resumption of operations of SP3 and SP4 trains will meet the travel needs of local residents and tourists. However, the journey will take 30-60 minutes longer than usual to ensure passenger safety. Train SP3 will depart from Hanoi station at 10 p.m., while train SP4 will leave Lao Cai station at 9:30 p.m.
In addition, the Hanoi Railway Transport Company is offering bus tickets for transfers from Lao Cai station to various locations in Sapa, within a 2-kilometer radius of the Stone Church.
The Hanoi-Lao Cai rail line had previously been shut down due to the effects of the typhoon and subsequent flooding. Freight trains resumed operations on September 15, but passenger services were delayed until now.
