HCMC – Original artifacts, including aircraft fragments and bomb shells, have been transformed into contemporary art installations at the Hanoi Museum to offer a fresh perspective on heritage.

The museum’s newly-launched space features two distinct parts namely “War and Peace” and “Spring Dance.” By blending historical remnants with modern artistic language, the museum aims to awaken heritage and foster a dialogue between past memories and future aspirations.

The “War and Peace” installation, created by artists Thu Tran and Tay Phong, uses cold metal remnants to form a profound visual narrative. At the end of a path symbolizing wartime separation, visitors find images of lotus flowers and colorful silk – icons of rebirth and peace. This setup shifts the viewer’s experience from merely observing history to deep contemplation.

Meanwhile, the “Spring Dance” installation by artist Nguyen Duc Phương utilizes bamboo and vibrant colors to evoke the energy of a new season, drawing inspiration from Tuong (Vietnamese classical opera) is creatively arranged, soaring mid-air to evoke the image of Saint Giong – a symbol of Vietnamese indomitable will and national strength.

Since opening a month ago, the Hanoi Museum has become a new cultural destination in the capital city, especially attracting large crowds during the Lunar New Year holidays.
