HCMC – Authorities in Hanoi have shortlisted 115 sites inside Beltway No. 1 for EV charging stations after reviewing nearly 500 potential locations.
Hanoi’s Department of Construction has reported on the progress of implementing the city government’s directives on transitioning to green transportation.
The local government has initially identified nearly 500 potential locations for EV charging stations at bus terminals, parking lots, parks, train stations, residential complexes, and urban areas.
Charging stations at major bus terminals such as Giap Bat and Gia Lam have been operational since June and July, while My Dinh station is expected to come online in the third quarter, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
Nine wards along Beltway No. 1 have submitted proposals for EV charging stations, with 115 sites being identified for installation within the area.
Specifically, 33 sites are on traffic land and sidewalks; 15 on public land; 20 on mixed-use land; 30 on office premises; 15 on school and educational land; and two in parks: Phung Hung Park and Co Tan Park.
In addition, as of September 4, 67 out of 126 communes and wards outside Beltway No. 1 had yet to submit proposals, while the remaining localities had proposed 386 potential sites for charging stations.
