HCMC – Hanoi has approved the investment policy for three major bridges over the Red River, with a total cost of nearly VND48 trillion.
The resolution on the investment policy for Tu Lien, Tran Hung Dao and Ngoc Hoi bridges was passed on February 25 at the 21st session of the Hanoi People’s Council, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
According to the resolution, Hanoi has finalized procedures and approvals for Tu Lien Bridge and its approach roads, as well as Tran Hung Dao Bridge.
The Tu Lien Bridge project, spanning 5.15 kilometers, will connect Nghi Tam Street in Tay Ho District to the intersection with Truong Sa Street. The project has a preliminary investment of VND20.17 trillion, funded by the city budget, and is scheduled for implementation from 2025 to 2027.
Similarly, Tran Hung Dao Bridge will be about 5.6 kilometers long, linking the Tran Hung Dao-Tran Thanh Tong intersection in Hoan Kiem District to Vu Duc Than Street in Long Bien District. The bridge needs an estimated VND15.97 trillion to build, which will come from the city budget. It will be constructed between 2025 and 2027.
The Hanoi People’s Council has requested the prime minister to authorize the Hanoi People’s Committee as the managing authority for the Ngoc Hoi Bridge project, which spans both Hanoi and Hung Yen Province.
Ngoc Hoi Bridge, along with its approach roads, will stretch 7.5 kilometers, and require an estimated VND11.84 trillion. The project will be financed through both the city and central budgets and is set to be finished between 2025 and 2030.
Once finished, the bridge will play a key role in completing Beltway No. 3.5, improving connectivity between Hanoi and Hung Yen. It is also expected to reduce congestion on major routes such as Beltway No. 3, Giai Phong Road, and Road 70.
