HCMC – By 2024, Hanoi City’s government will set up three more walking streets in the city center, with two in Dong Da District and one in Ba Dinh District.

This year, Dong Da District will prepare a plan for the Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam pedestrian street, and the Nguyen Van Tuyet food street.

The Hoang Cau-Hao Nam pedestrian street is planned for 2024. It will be part of a wider walking space connecting Hoang Cau Lake and the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line’s nearby areas.

Ba Dinh District officials are seeking to complete the plan on a business service quarter and walking street around Ngoc Khanh Lake, the local media reported.

The 12-hectare project includes the area around the lake and the garden on Nguyen Chi Thanh Street. The pedestrian street could be opened in the last quarter of this year.

Hanoi City now has five walking streets, including the one around Hoan Kiem Lake and the nearby area, a part of the Old Quarter, a 900-meter section of Trinh Cong Son Street, Son Tay ancient citadel and the nearby area, and Tran Nhan Tong Street and the nearby area.
