HCMC – A warehouse fire in Hanoi was extinguished early on July 19 after breaking out shortly after midnight, leaving one firefighter hospitalized due to smoke inhalation.

According to Hanoi police, the fire started at around 12:05 a.m. at a warehouse operated by a fruit and vegetable import-export company.

The facility covers approximately 1,700 square meters and contained flammable materials including wood, essential oils, printing equipment, and other chemicals, producing toxic smoke and posing risks to nearby buildings.

Upon receiving the alert, authorities deployed over 60 personnel and more than 10 fire trucks. Local officials and residents also assisted in the operation.

Firefighters tapped both natural water sources and the city’s hydrant system. Excavators were used to dismantle structural components, allowing crews to access deep-seated fire zones inside the warehouse.

By around 1:30 a.m., the fire was largely contained. Firefighters successfully prevented the blaze from spreading to around 1,000 square meters of adjacent facilities and relocated vehicles, equipment, and other assets to minimize damage.

No fatalities were reported. The injured firefighter was taken to hospital and has since recovered. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
