HCMC – The Mekong Delta province of Hau Giang has approved a project to develop a rice husk-fired power plant at a total cost of over VND570 billion, or US$25 million.
The plant will be put into operation in May 2024, the local media reported.
The facility will comprise several components, including a factory, an operating house, a canteen, a parking lot, warehouses, a park, an inland terminal and power transmission lines.
Once in place, the risk husk-fired power station will contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and using agricultural waste as a clean fuel to promote clean energy and gradually replace coal, moving toward sustainable development.
