HCMC – Construction work at the An Phu intersection is being accelerated around the clock, with authorities aiming to open the underpass and overpasses before the Lunar New Year holiday in February 2026 and complete the entire project by June 30, 2026.
On-site observations show bustling activity
At package XL10, which covers the construction of overpasses N3 and N4, two construction teams are working at full speed

Overpass N3 has completed pillars T5 to T11 and abutment M2. Workers are now building foundations for pillars T1 to T3 and abutment M1, while preparing for a second concrete pour for the span between T5 and T6.

Overpass N4 has finished pillars T4 to T10 and abutment M2. Construction is underway on foundations for pillars T1 to T3, abutment M1, load-reducing piles, and retaining walls.

According to the contractor, XL10 has reached only around 22% of total work because road surface construction on Mai Chi Tho Street can begin only after underpass HC1-01 opens to traffic in July 2025
To catch up, crews are working at night and during off-peak hours
The package for building Giong Ong To 2 Bridge is more than 98% complete, with only final tasks such as road marking left
The HC1-01 underpass, measuring 455 meters long and 20 meters wide with four car lanes, is opened to traffic at the end of June
At package XL12, which includes flyovers N1.1, N1.3, N2, and the roof of underpass HC1-02, multiple teams and machinery are operating simultaneously in fenced-off areas
The HCMC Management Board for Traffic Works Construction Investment said contractors are working under “three shifts, four crews” model, deploying 18 construction fronts and over 160 engineers and workers

The city targets completing flyover N2 by the end of 2025 and opening underpass HC1-02 by the 2026 Lunar New Year
