HCMC – The list of 125 people elected to the 11th People’s Council of HCMC for the 2026-2031 tenure was released today, March 20, by the city election committee.
The committee confirmed that the election was conducted democratically and safely with over 99% voter turnout. All 125 council seats were filled as planned by a pool of 208 candidates, ensuring no re-elections were necessary.
The election, held on March 15, saw a massive turnout with over 9.4 million citizens in HCMC casting their votes, representing 99.06% of the city’s eligible total. Notably, all 168 wards and communes recorded participation rates above 95%, with 38 areas achieving a 100% turnout.
