HCMC – HCMC and Dong Nai authorities will ban vehicles weighing eight tons or more from crossing the Cat Lai ferry during two periods from January 14 to January 15 to serve the groundbreaking ceremony of the Cat Lai Bridge project.
According to a joint notification issued on January 13 by the HCMC and Dong Nai departments of construction, the restriction will apply from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. on January 14, and from 9:00 a.m. on January 14 to 5:00 p.m on January 15.
The HCMC Department of Construction directed heavy vehicles to take an alternative route via Mai Chi Tho Boulevard, the HCMC–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway, Road 319, and Nhon Trach Industrial Park in Dong Nai.
To reduce congestion near the ferry terminal, the Dong Nai Department of Construction announced diversion routes. From Nhon Trach Commune to HCMC, vehicles should travel via Ly Thai To Street, Quach Thi Trang Street, Road 25B or Hung Vuong Street, National Highway 51, and the HCMC–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway.
Light trucks and motorcycles will be guided through internal roads in Dai Phuoc Commune to reach the auxiliary ferry terminal, under the direction of traffic control forces.
In the opposite direction, from HCMC to Nhon Trach Commune, the main route is Hanoi Highway, Vung Tau Junction, National Highway 51, Road 25B, and the Nhon Trach Commune center. Vehicles may choose other routes depending on travel needs.
