HCMC – HCMC chairman Phan Van Mai, speaking at a meeting with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier today afternoon, January 24, called for more German companies to come for business.
Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, paid a half-day visit to HCMC where he and his spouse engaged in various activities, reported the local media.
At the meeting, Chairman Mai said that the southern city highly values cooperation with German localities and that the city wants more cooperation with Germany in the fields of investment, trade, science and technology, education, and training.
President Steinmeier attended a roundtable meeting with German companies active in the city and visited the Vietnamese-German University.
He and his official delegation left the city today evening, concluding their January 23-24 state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President of Vietnam Vo Van Thuong and his wife.
