HCMC – A construction plan for the HCMC-Chon Thanh expressway project has recently been proposed by Binh Duong Province, one of the two southern provinces through which the road passes.
As planned, the expressway project will have three sections, with one in HCMC (two kilometers), one in Binh Duong Province (60 kilometers) and one in Binh Phuoc Province (seven kilometers).
As for the Binh Duong section, the provincial government recommended building the road under the public-private partnership, with an investment of over VND8,800 billion.
An additional VND7,300 billion will be spent on land clearance and funded by the State budget.
The province plans to construct a 7.7-kilometer-long section that connects the expressway to the HCMC Beltway No. 3 based on the underway Provincial Road 743 and 747B projects.
Work on seven kilometers of the expressway in Binh Phuoc Province will be developed under another project, totaling VND1,800 billion from the budget.
The HCMC- Chon Thanh, or HCMC- Thu Dau Mot-Chon Thanh expressway, is part of the Ho Chi Minh road project. The road is expected to enhance connectivity between the southern key economic zone and the Central Highlands, thus boosting socioeconomic development.
