HCMC – The HCMC Digital Transformation Center and RMIT University Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on digital capacity building for the city on June 5.
The MOU leverages the strengths of RMIT University in Australia and Vietnam, as well as the development needs of the HCMC Digital Transformation Center, and was approved by the HCMC People’s Committee.
First, RMIT Vietnam will support the HCMC Digital Transformation Center in enhancing the city’s digital capacity through the organization of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) over five years. These courses will focus on three key pillars: digital government, digital economy, and digital society.
Second, RMIT Vietnam will collaborate in establishing the Center of Excellence (COE) within the HCMC Digital Transformation Center, focusing on developing research models tailored to HCMC’s unique needs and challenges.
Third, the MOU entails cooperation in developing a research cluster focused on initiatives to make HCMC a smart and sustainable city.
As Vietnam’s dynamic economic engine, HCMC aims to become a leading sustainable and liveable urban center in Asia. The cooperation between the HCMC Digital Transformation Center and RMIT University is expected to contribute significantly to that goal.
