HCMC – The HCMC People’s Committee has decided to allocate three land plots to Trung Nam Group as payment for a flood control project worth VND10 trillion.

The city assigned land plot C8A in Area A, Tan My Ward to Trung Nam Long Thinh Company; the land plot at 762 Binh Quoi Street, Binh Quoi Ward to Trung Nam Dat Long Company; and the land plot at 232 Do Xuan Hop Street, Phuoc Long Ward to Trung Nam Vuong Long Company.

The project was implemented under the build-transfer (BT) contract, including a tidal control system, embankments, and pumping stations aimed at reducing flooding in the city’s central area and others along the Saigon River.

The move is expected to accelerate the project’s completion and enable it to begin operations soon, helping reduce flooding and improve climate resilience.

The project began in 2016 and has since been about 94% complete. It was suspended in 2020 due to legal issues, but construction resumed in February this year and is expected to be operational later this year.
