HCMC – The People’s Committee of HCMC celebrated the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day (October 13, 2004 – October 13, 2024) on October 11 by recognizing outstanding businesses and entrepreneurs in the city for 2024.

During the ceremony, 93 businesses and 84 entrepreneurs were acknowledged as exemplary representatives of HCMC.

The city government commended 38 businesses and 28 entrepreneurs that have achieved the exemplary status for four consecutive years, highlighting their resilience and continuous growth.

According to the HCMC Business Association (HUBA), this recognition aims to honor enterprises that have excelled in business performance, contributed to the city’s budget, and promoted innovative and sustainable development.

Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, chairman of HUBA, said that the recognized businesses have contributed VND16.43 trillion to the city’s budget revenue, and provided employment for 58,257 workers.

Hoa also pinpointed the challenges for the city, including the lack of large companies to guide smaller ones as most local businesses are small and struggle to join the global value chain. He stressed the need for these businesses to focus on digital transformation and green initiatives to improve efficiency and meet new market standards.

Echoing this view, Nguyen Viet Hong, CEO of Vina CHG, said that digital transformation and sustainable development have been the company’s main priorities for several years. Vina CHG has adopted innovative practices by utilizing digital transformation to improve business operations and management, while also focusing on researching and developing digital technology products.

During his speech at the event, Phan Van Mai, chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, said that the city government is committed to supporting businesses and entrepreneurs in their operations and growth.

He acknowledged the existing challenges faced by businesses in interactions with government agencies but expressed the intention to minimize these obstacles to promote business development and the city’s growth.
