HCMC – A mass wedding was held for 20 couples comprising medical workers involved in the fight against the Covid pandemic at the 175 Military Hospital in HCMC on February 20.
The wedding was part of an art program titled “Pulse of Life”, which honored frontline doctors and nurses for their contribution to the city’s fight against Covid. These medical workers had to postpone their wedding for many months due to the pandemic.
Former Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, Former Vice State President Truong My Hoa, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Women’s Union Ha Thi Nga and Vice Chairwoman of HCMC Phan Thi Thang attended the special event.
Taking place in the garden of the 175 Military Hospital, “Pulse of Life” also comprised an ao dai (Vietnam’s traditional dress) show by fashion designer Minh Hanh and art performances featuring well-known artists such as Meritorious Artist Thanh Lam, Meritorious Artist Linh Nga, pianist Pho An Mi, saxophonist Quyen Thien Dac and singer Thang Loi.
Nguyen Huy Hung, an employee of the 175 Military Hospital, said he and his wife had initially planned to hold their wedding in May 2021. However, the Covid pandemic turned complicated during this time, so he had to postpone the wedding.
“When the hospital announced it was organizing a mass wedding for the employees, we immediately registered for the wedding. All of us couples are very happy tonight,” Hung said at the ceremony.
