HCMC – The Cross-border E-commerce Conference 2023 was held in HCMC on June 9 to provide Vietnamese businesses with opportunities to go global.
The event, organized by Amazon Global Selling and the Vietnam E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency (iDEA), attracted the participation of 14 service providers and Amazon selling partners from South Korea, Singapore and Vietnam.
With the theme “Embrace Asian Experience, Vietnamese Brands Go Global,” the conference featured insightful discussions and information sharing about the e-commerce export industry. A separate session of the CBEC Conference 2023 was also held in Hanoi on June 7.
In HCMC, the event was attended by 1,000 enterprise representatives, equipping them with updated knowledge, resources and information to seize cross-border opportunities, expand their customer reach and grow their businesses.
During the conference, Amazon Global Selling presented the findings from the “Local Sellers, Global Consumers 2022: Capturing Vietnam’s e-commerce export opportunity” report.
This report builds upon the 2021 study which refined projections for Vietnam’s e-commerce exports until 2027 and provided insights into the current and future engagement of Vietnamese micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in e-commerce.
According to the report, Vietnam’s business-to-consumer e-commerce exports are valued at VND80.7 trillion, ranking 7th among all export categories in the country. However, the report suggests that if MSMEs actively utilize e-commerce for exporting their products and services, this figure could surge to VND296.3 trillion by 2027.
Gijae Seong, head of Amazon Global Selling Vietnam, expressed their commitment to collaborate with industry service providers to meet the diverse needs of MSMEs and support their success in expanding online presence and accessing global customers.
