HCMC instructs residents to conduct quick Covid-19 tests themselves

Must read

HCMC – The HCMC Center for Disease Control (HCDC) on August 22 began instructing residents in Wards 9, 13, 14 and Vo Thi Sau of District 3 to conduct rapid Covid-19 tests themselves.

Medical workers provided detailed instructions so that residents could confidently take the samples of themselves and their family members, the local media reported.

According to the municipal steering committee for Covid-19 infection prevention and control, the city will conduct rapid Covid-19 tests for all residents in high-risk and extremely-high-risk areas in the next 14 days.

Meanwhile, representatives of households in coronavirus-free areas and areas with a low risk of pandemic transmission will undergo RT-PCR tests in groups of five or 10 people. Tests will be conducted twice in the next two weeks, seven days apart.

As for residents who cannot conduct tests themselves, testing teams will conduct the tests for them and instruct them to take samples from their family members.

After 30-60 minutes, members of the testing teams will return to take the testing results and address Covid-19 cases in line with the healthcare sector’s instructions.

HCDC will test all local residents from August 23 to 25 and conduct another testing drive later. After August 25, the city will assess the coronavirus transmission risk in each residential area.
