HCMC – HCMC today, December 20, launched 17 subsidized electric bus routes designed to link Metro Line No. 1, also known as the Ben Thanh-Suoi Tien line.
The new routes will officially begin operation on December 22, featuring a fleet of 150 electric buses with capacities of 30 and 60 passengers. The buses are equipped with free Wi-Fi, surveillance cameras, automated announcements, and cashless payment systems. Passengers can enjoy free rides for the first 30 days.
The buses will operate daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., with intervals of 8 to 20 minutes. Ticket prices are set at VND5,000 to VND6,000 per trip for regular passengers and VND3,000 for students. Monthly passes with 30 trips cost VND112,500. Seniors, children, and people with disabilities can ride for free.
To enhance accessibility, parking facilities accommodating over 2,000 motorcycles have been set up at metro stations, including Van Thanh and Thao Dien. Additionally, new bus shelters and 230 stops along Hanoi Highway and Vo Nguyen Giap Street have been added.
