HCMC – The Government has approved in principle an expressway project linking HCMC and the Moc Bai border gate in Tay Ninh Province.
The 51-kilometer expressway will be built under a public-private partnership (PPP) at a total cost of VND19,617 billion, or US$830 million. Construction is expected to start this year and be completed by 2027.
The project aims to reduce traffic congestion on National Highway 22, enhance transportation capacity, and stimulate economic growth in the region.
The expressway is anticipated to improve connectivity within the Southeast region and facilitate trade with the Mekong Delta, the Central Highlands, and south-central provinces.
