HCMC – The HCMC government has launched a public voting campaign to select 50 significant events and activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Reunification Day (April 30).
The initiative is organized by the Department of Culture and Sports under the guidance of the HCMC People’s Committee, and was officially announced at a press briefing on March 20.
According to the department’s Press and Publishing Division, the shortlist was compiled from nominations submitted by departments, local authorities, media organizations, and an advisory council made up of historians, retired revolutionaries, and academic experts.
Events nominated by at least 30% of public participants will also be considered for inclusion by the advisory council.
Examples of proposed events include the final phase of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975, Saigon-Gia Dinh post-war rallies, the launch of Hoa Binh Theater, the Tao Dan Spring Flower Festival, and Nguyen Hue Flower Street.
The voting period will run from March 21 to March 31, and votes can be cast online at:

The program aims to recognize and celebrate HCMC’s achievements over the past 50 years while giving the public a chance to highlight key events that have shaped the city’s history, politics, economy, culture, society, national defense, and security.
