HCMC – The HCMC Department of Transport has proposed the city government develop Thai Van Lung Street in District 1 into a model urban thoroughfare at a total cost of VND29.6 billion.

Following the renovation, the street would be five meters wide, and have spacious sidewalks on each side measuring five meters in width, all paved with granite.

The street would incorporate commercial establishments, auxiliary facilities, and utility projects, enhancing pedestrian infrastructure and creating communal spaces for residents and visitors.

Traffic management will mirror current weekday regulations from Monday to Friday, while the street will transform into a pedestrian-friendly zone on Saturdays and Sundays from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Pending approval, work on the Thai Van Lung Street revamp project is slated to commence this year, with completion anticipated by April 30, 2025.
