HCMC – Having fully recovered from Covid-19, 3,207 patients were discharged from Covid-19 treatment hospitals in HCMC on August 1, and continue to isolate at home, raising the city’s total number of recovered cases to 37,846.
Over the past few days, the city has recorded an average of some 3,000-4,000 recoveries per day, while its daily new infections since July 28 remained at some 4,000 cases.
Among the Covid-19 treatment hospitals, the Field Hospital No.12, which is managed by the HCMC Hospital of Dermato-venereology, has released over 560 patients who fully recovered.
The field hospital was requisitioned from a resettlement apartment building in HCMC’s Thu Duc City. It started admitting patients on July 21 and is treating more than 1,000 coronavirus patients.
The Field Hospital No.2, meanwhile, had discharged over 2,200 patients as of August 1. The hospital, which is also located at a resettlement apartment building, has received over 5,000 patients since it was put into operation on July 5, according to Nguyen Thanh Dung, director of the hospital.
After nearly one-and-a-half month of operations, the Trung Vuong Covid-19 Treatment Hospital has discharged 891 patients. Earlier, it was converted from the Trung Vuong Hospital on June 19 to one treating coronavirus patients with symptoms of the disease, underlying medical problems, or in a critical condition.
This morning, the Ministry of Health announced 1,997 new cases in HCMC, sending the city’s tally in the current fourth wave to some 96,300.
According to the HCMC Center for Disease Control’s data released today, August 2, hospitals in the city are treating more than 34,400 Covid-19 patients. Of them, 924 are relying on ventilators and eight others require ECMO support.
