HCMC – In a move to position itself as a premier logistics hub in Southeast Asia, HCMC has unveiled plans to significantly enhance its logistics infrastructure and expand seaport capacity by 2030.
This initiative, spearheaded by the city’s People’s Committee, is designed to integrate the local logistics sector more deeply into the global supply chain, thereby driving economic growth and fostering international integration.
The city’s vision extends further, with aspirations to become a key logistics center in Asia by 2045. This long-term strategy focuses on building a sustainable and globally competitive logistics industry.
Central to this ambitious plan is the construction of the Can Gio International Transshipment Port.
The VND128.5-trillion project will be carried out in two phases. The first phase, estimated at VND38.5 trillion, is slated for completion by 2030. The second phase will require an additional VND90 trillion.
