HCMC – Tourist information and assistance have become vital drivers of HCMC’s tourism resurgence, with visitor support centers and hotlines seeing a surge in demand this year.
The Visitor Information and Support Center (VISC) of HCMC said that from January to November, it assisted 9,037 tourists, up from 4,124 in the same period last year.
Some 93.3% of the VISC visitors were from abroad, mainly Australia, France, India, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Spain, China, Thailand, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and the U.S.
The 1022 Information Portal branch number 8 of the HCMC Department of Tourism saw a significant increase in inquiries, with 321 calls related to transportation, tourist attractions, and tourist safety concerns.
This toll-free around-the-clock hotline provides crucial assistance to tourists.
Social media platforms have further strengthened the city’s information and support efforts. The official website visithcmc.vn and Facebook pages, including Vibrant Ho Chi Minh City and Du lịch Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, offer comprehensive resources on transportation, tourist services, events, and popular destinations.
These channels enable visitors to easily access information, interact with the city’s tourist agency, and receive prompt assistance.
The HCMC Department of Tourism said that expanding information and support channels is essential for enhancing the quality of tourism services. The agency has plans to empower tourists with well-organized information and trained guidance to help them navigate the city, discover hidden gems, and plan their ideal vacations.
