HCMC — HCMC will launch a high-speed boat service connecting Bach Dang Wharf in Ben Nghe Ward and Binh Khanh Commune (formerly part of Can Gio District) to improve waterway transport and tourism links.

The city’s Department of Construction has approved the plan, proposed by Can Gio Urban Tourism JSC, reported the Vietnam News Agency. The route will operate between Bach Dang Wharf and the Tam Thon Hiep inland waterway terminal in Binh Khanh Commune.

The company will cooperate with the Binh Khanh Commune People’s Committee to allow GreenlinesDP vessels to dock at the terminal for passenger pick-up and drop-off. It is also required to prepare an infrastructure upgrade plan to handle boats carrying up to 151 passengers and ensure safety at the terminal.

The Department of Construction requested that operations minimize disruptions to residents using the shared facilities. Local authorities were asked to assist the company in developing supporting infrastructure such as waiting areas, restrooms, and parking lots.

Earlier, Can Gio Urban Tourism JSC proposed donating three 200-ton ferries to the Binh Khanh ferry terminal to enhance connectivity in the Can Gio area. The ferries would be managed by the city’s Youth Volunteer Force to help increase transport capacity.
