HCMC – The HCMC Department of Education and Training will begin piloting artificial intelligence (AI) education in around 170 schools from March this year, initially targeting specialized high schools, institutions offering high-quality and internationally integrated programs, and accredited schools.

According to the department’s leaders, schools organizing AI education for students must adhere to regulations issued by the Ministry of Education and Training on required competencies, content and qualities. Implementation must also reflect actual conditions, including teacher capacity, facilities, and students’ needs and abilities.

Schools are encouraged to cooperate with research institutes, universities, organizations and individuals to obtain professional support, learning materials and experiential activities related to AI education.

The department also called for effective mobilization of social resources and participation from relevant stakeholders in organizing AI education, in compliance with regulations, to contribute to improving overall education quality.

Leaders of educational institutions said integrating AI into schools is aimed at preparing students with competencies required for integration in the digital era.
