HCMC – HCMC is set to inaugurate its Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) in September, positioning itself at the forefront of innovation and technological advancement across various sectors.
C4IR, slated to be a hub for cutting-edge technologies, will prioritize advancements in semiconductor technology, biotechnology, new materials, drones, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT), driving the city’s innovation agenda.
Speaking at the “HCMC Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) – New Sustainable Growth Engine” seminar held on April 25, Vo Van Hoan, vice chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, emphasized the pivotal role of the collaboration between C4IR and the Saigon Hi-Tech Park in fostering sustainable development and innovation. This collaboration is expected to catalyze significant regional and national progress in the coming years.
Nguyen Anh Thi, head of the Management Board of Saigon Hi-Tech Park, highlighted C4IR’s role as Vietnam’s industrial policy advisory center, piloting national industrial policies in the city and driving economic transformation amid the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0). The center is poised to serve as a platform not only for the city but also for the entire country to shape strategies for Industry 4.0.
As part of the HCMC Economic Forum 2024, C4IR is to be unveiled with detailed plans outlining its development roadmap, clarifying its short, medium, and long-term objectives.
Strategically located within the Saigon Hi-tech Park, C4IR will be the second of its kind in Southeast Asia, following Malaysia’s C4IR, and will rank as the 19th globally.
