HCMC – HCMC will begin widening a six-kilometer section of National Highway 13 from Binh Trieu Bridge to Vinh Binh in 2026 to ease congestion at the northeastern gateway.
The project, implemented under a build-operate-transfer (BOT) contract, will expand the road to 60 meters with 10 lanes, green corridors, and upgraded technical infrastructure. It is expected to be completed in 2028.
Total investment is nearly VND21 trillion, with the city budget covering over VND14.6 trillion for compensation and resettlement, and the investor contributing around VND6.3 trillion for construction. Toll collection will last 18 years and four months.
Around 1,055 households and organizations will be affected, with over 200 requiring complete relocation. Compensation payments are expected to begin in December.
National Highway 13, stretching 140 kilometers through HCMC and the former neighboring provinces of Binh Duong, and Binh Phuoc, is a key route that frequently experiences heavy congestion.
