HCMC – The HCMC government is preparing to welcome about 30 foreign delegations led by ministerial and provincial officials attending the second Friendship Dialogue (FD) and the fifth HCMC Economic Forum (HEF) next month.

The FD will begin on September 24, bringing together 29 delegations from many countries, including Japan, South Korea, Russia, China, the U.S., and Australia.

The event will feature the inauguration of HCMC’s international friendship symbol at Ben Bach Dang Park, followed by a city tour and cultural experiences for participants.

On September 25, the fifth HEF will include a first-ever policy dialogue session, attended by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Discussions will focus on critical economic and development issues in the city, with up to 28 global delegations, including mayors, vice governors, and experts, expected to join.

Among the participants will be the mayors of Vientiane (Laos) and Turin (Italy) and representatives from various organizations, such as the World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme, and the International Finance Corporation.

The HEF will include the launch of the Center for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) within the Saigon Hi-tech Park. In collaboration with the World Economic Forum, the project has highlighted Vietnam’s commitment to technological innovation and digital transformation.
