HCMC – The HCMC Department of Construction has asked the developer of the Ly Thuong Kiet social housing project to promptly start receiving applications from people seeking to buy or rent high-rise apartments.
The request was sent to Duc Manh JSC, the developer of the project at 324 Ly Thuong Kiet Street in Dien Hong Ward, after authorities received complaints from residents who were unable to submit applications despite earlier announcements about the project.
In early February, the department posted information about the project, stating that people could submit applications from February 1 to March 31 at the project site. However, residents reported that the developer had not yet begun accepting applications.
Duc Manh JSC said that the timing for receiving applications would be determined once the project completes the required legal procedures and meets implementation conditions. When the requirements are met, the developer will publish details on the application period and the number of units available for sale or rent on the Department of Construction’s website.
According to the department, the February 1–March 31 period is mainly intended for people to prepare application documents and follow publicly disclosed information before the official application process begins.
Under regulations, developers must publicly disclose details such as the application timeline, number of units, unit sizes and selling prices on the housing information system and submit the information to the Department of Construction at least 30 days before receiving applications.
The application period is decided by the developer but must last at least 30 days. Applications can be submitted in person, online, by post or through a workplace.
The Ly Thuong Kiet social housing project is expected to offer 755 apartments in blocks A1, A2 and part of block B2. Sales will be conducted in two phases, each covering about half of the units.
The estimated selling price is more than VND21.6 million per square meter, excluding taxes and other fees.
Construction is scheduled to be completed 15 months after February 2025, with handover expected in August this year. The project is located opposite Phu Tho Indoor Stadium and near Trung Vuong Hospital in central HCMC.
