HCMC – The government of HCMC will bolster ties with the Australian state of Victoria in a range of fields, including digitalization, climate change mitigation, and entrepreneurship promotion.

Speaking at a meeting with Treasurer of Victoria Tim Pallas yesterday, January 11, Duong Anh Duc, vice chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee, said ties between HCMC and Victoria had expanded.

HCMC wants to work closely with Victoria to boost cooperation in investment, trade, logistics, healthcare and education.

The city will prioritize enhancing its human resource capability in public administration, so it needs Australian expertise.

Pallas, also the Victorian minister for Industrial Relations, Trade and Investment, said the Victorian government seeks to strengthen exchange and experience sharing activities with HCMC.

His visit was part of efforts to establish a Victorian trade and investment representative office in HCMC.

  1. I’m pleased to read that The Hon Tim Pallas was in Ho Chi Minh City looking to establish a Trade and Representative office on behalf of the State of Victoria (Australia). As the only ‘mum and dad’ Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO: 45373) on the ground in Ho Chi Minh City, it’s noteworthy that the first I knew about the Minister’s visit was when I read the article in the Saigon Times. It looks to me that this is another example of Austrade in Ho Chi Minh City being asleep at the wheel. Am I disappointed? Yes! Surprised? No!
