HCMC wants to build two more bridges with Dong Nai

The Saigon Times

Must read

HCMC – The HCMC Department of Transport has proposed building Dong Nai 2 and Phu My 2 bridges linking the city with neighboring Dong Nai Province to enhance traffic and economic connectivity between the two localities.

Under the proposal sent to the municipal government, Dong Nai 2 will connect HCMC’s Thu Duc City with Dong Nai Province’s Long Thanh District and have six lanes. The 5.4-kilometer-long bridge will start at the intersection with Beltway No. 3 and end at Provincial Road 777B, the local media reported.

Phu My 2 will span the Dong Nai River, linking the province’s Nhon Trach District and HCMC’s District 7. The bridge will have six lanes.

Dong Nai Province and HCMC are divided by the Dong Nai, Long Tau, Dong Tranh and Thi Vai rivers. Three arterial roads connecting the two localities include National Highways 1 and 1K and the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay expressway, but these roads are overwhelmed with traffic. The Long Thanh Bridge is the only one connecting the province with the city.

The two localities are constructing two bridges, Phuoc Khanh on the Ben Luc-Long Thanh expressway and Nhon Trach on Beltway No. 3, while the Cai Lai bridge project remains on paper.
