HCMC – Heat waves are forecast to intensify in southeastern Vietnam from April and expand to the Central Highlands and the Mekong Delta, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
The center has forecast stronger heat in the southeast beginning in April, before easing by late May and gradually narrowing in June, reported the Vietnam News Agency.
Heat is also likely to appear from April in northwestern Vietnam and the western parts of provinces from Thanh Hoa to Hue City. From late May, heat may spread across the broader northern and central regions, with intensity increasing in the following months.
The rainy season in northern and southern Vietnam is expected to begin around mid-May, close to the long-term average. Moderate to heavy rainfall may occur in May and June in these regions.
