HCMC – Thundershowers and heavy downpours are expected to hit localities in the north, south and Central Highlands today, August 13, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting.
This evening in particular, thunderstorms could occur on a large scale in the northern localities and the north-central province of Thanh Hoa.
The Northwestern areas, Quang Ninh and Hai Phong provinces are likely to see medium to heavy rains with rainfalls ranging from 40mm to 80mm, packed with gusty winds and thunderstorms.
The center warned that widespread rain in the north could last until August 18 or 19.
As for the Central Highlands and the south, the impact of the southwest monsoon winds may cause thundershowers, with medium to excessive rains mainly hitting localities there in the afternoon and the evening.
