HCMC – Authorities will re-auction the highly sought-after license plate number 43A-888.88 at 3 p.m. on June 24, with a starting price of VND500 million.
This is the highest starting price for a license plate auction since the policy came into effect in August 2023. The price is set under Article 6 of the Government decree on license plate auctions, applying to special formats such as AAAAA and ABCDE (with A > 4).
In addition to car license plates, the June 24 auction will also feature a series of motorcycle license plates. Among them are eye-catching numbers, such as 50AA-666.66 (HCMC), 26AA-567.89 (Son La), and 67AA-555.55 (An Giang).
These motorcycle plates also carry a starting price of VND50 million, as they fall under the category of “super premium plates” according to regulations.
Prospective bidders are required to register an account on the Ministry of Public Security’s online auction portal and make a deposit in advance as stipulated to secure their bidding rights. Registration and deposit deadlines typically close prior to the auction date.
