HCMC – Hitachi, the Japanese contractor responsible for contract package CP3 of Metro Line No. 1 in HCMC, has delivered equipment for the direct training of train operation staff, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

The equipment provided includes trains, tracks, ticketing systems, information and signal boards, depot and workshop tools, monitoring and data collection systems, and platform screen doors, among other essential devices.

This equipment delivery enables Vietnamese staff to practice directly with the project’s equipment after completing their theory training.

According to the plan, practical training on the metro line is scheduled to conclude in September 2024. Employees who complete the training will then participate in test runs in October and November.

The 19.7-kilometer-long metro line connects Ben Thanh Market in District 1 and Suoi Tien Theme Park in Thu Duc City. The project requires a total investment of VND43.7 trillion, sourced from Japanese ODA loans and Vietnam’s reciprocal funding.
