Hoa Phat Group sets steel output record in 2025

HCMC – Hoa Phat Group Joint Stock Company (HOSE: HPG) reported record steel output and sales in 2025, with annual steel sales exceeding 10 million tons for the first time, up 31% year-on-year.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, the group produced more than three million tons of crude steel, up 10% from the previous quarter and 36% from the same period last year. Sales of hot-rolled coil (HRC), construction steel, high-quality steel and billets reached three million tons in the quarter, rising 24% quarter-on-quarter and 53% year-on-year.

Construction steel and high-quality steel sales totaled 1.3 million tons in Q4, the highest quarterly volume ever recorded by the group. In December alone, sales of these products hit a monthly record of 585,000 tons.

For all of 2025, Hoa Phat Group Joint Stock Company produced 11 million tons of crude steel, up 26% from 2024. Total sales of HRC, construction steel, high-quality steel and billets reached 10.6 million tons, marking a historic high for the company.

Closing the trading session today, January 9, HPG shares closed at VND26,200, down 0.76%, with over 35 million shares changing hands, bringing the company’s market capitalization to approximately VND201.1 trillion.

Meanwhile, the VN-Index rose 12.34 points, or 0.67%, to close at 1,867.9 points with 107 gainers and 219 decliners. Total trading volume exceeded 1.3 billion shares, valued at VND39.2 trillion, up more than 8% in volume but down around 2% in value from the previous session.

In the first trading week of 2026, the VN-Index gained 83.41 points, equivalent to a 4.67% increase.

Bank stocks led today’s rally, with CTG, VCB and BID contributing more than 16 points to the index. BID hit its ceiling price at VND46,050, while VCB and CTG approached their ceiling levels at VND68,000 and VND40,850, respectively, with matched volumes ranging from nearly 23 million to almost 39 million shares.

On the downside, selling pressure weighed on property and construction stocks, with HHS, TCH, and DXS closing at floor prices. Other notable decliners included FCN, HDC, and GEX, down between nearly 5% and over 6.5%.

On the HNX, the HNX-Index slipped two points, or 0.80%, to 247.1 points, with 54 advancers and 88 decliners. Trading value reached VND2.2 trillion.
