HCMC — Hoa Phat Group (HPG) will issue over 1.28 billion new shares to pay a 20% stock dividend for 2024, with June 27 chosen as the shareholder record date, reported the local media.

Shareholders will get two new shares for every 10 shares held. The dividend will be paid from undistributed post-tax profits based on the company’s audited 2024 financial statements.

Following the issuance, the steelmaker’s charter capital will rise to VND76.76 trillion.

The company originally planned to distribute a 5% cash dividend and a 15% stock dividend but opted to pay entirely in shares to preserve cash flow. Hoa Phat cited global uncertainties and U.S. reciprocal tariff policy as key reasons for the adjustment.

In the first quarter of 2025, Hoa Phat posted revenue of VND37.95 trillion, up 22% from a year earlier. After-tax profit rose 16.8% year-on-year to nearly VND3.35 trillion. The company has completed 22.3% of its full-year targets, which include VND170 trillion in revenue and VND15 trillion in after-tax profit.

Closing the trading session today, June 5, HPG inched down 0.77% to VND25,750, with a trading volume of nearly 18.8 million shares changing hands.
