Hoa Sen to pay 30% stock dividend

HCMC – Hoa Sen Group (HOSE: HSG) plans to pay a 30% stock dividend by issuing more than 186 million shares.

The company will distribute shares at a ratio of 30%, meaning shareholders will get 30 new shares for every 100 held. The share issue is expected in May 2026 pending approval from the State Securities Commission.

If completed, Hoa Sen’s charter capital will increase from VND6.21 trillion to VND8.07 trillion.

Closing the trading session today, March 18, HSG edged up 1.72% to VND14,750, with a trading volume of over 3.9 million shares.

The VN-Index rose 0.21% to 1,713.83 points, led by gains in oil and fertilizer stocks. The benchmark index added 3.54 points at the close, despite decliners outnumbering gainers by 189 to 134.

Total trading volume reached 887.5 million shares worth VND25.49 trillion, with value up nearly 11% from the previous session. Block deals accounted for 129.2 million shares valued at VND3.14 trillion.

Oil and gas stocks rebounded after recent profit-taking. GAS and PLX each climbed 6.13% to VND91,700 and VND48,450, respectively. PVD, PVT and PET also closed at ceiling prices.

Fertilizer stocks advanced sharply. DCM, DPM, BFC and VAF all hit their daily upper limits. Bank stocks were mixed. STB dropped 6.36% and NAB fell 2.3%, while BID rose 2.1% and CTG gained 1.74%. Other lenders moved within a narrow range.

Brokerage shares mostly declined. APG rose to its ceiling price, while VDS was unchanged. VPX, VCI, TCX and SSI fell between about 2% and 4.5%. Real estate stocks were largely lower, with modest changes.

SHB took the lead by trading volume with 46.2 million shares transacted, followed by SSI with 42.5 million shares, BSR with 37 million shares and STB with more than 33 million shares.

The HNX-Index recovered from earlier losses to close up 0.92 point, or 0.37%, at 247.78 points, with 100 million shares worth VND1.82 trillion traded.
