HCMC – Hoi An City authorities have worked with local residents and tourism businesses to find the best solution for managing tourism services, including a plan to collect entrance fees from visitors to the UNESCO-listed ancient town.
Nguyen Van Son, chairman of Hoi An City, said on May 8 that the city authorities have received feedback from residents and travel companies on the matter.
Hoi An would collect an entrance fee from tourists in group tours.
Earlier, Hoi An announced a plan in which from May 15, domestic and international guests would have buy an entrance ticket in the town. However, the plan was later postponed as it drew fire from the public and tourism companies.
