HCMC – The Hochiminh Stock Exchange (HOSE) on February 24 unveiled a new bull mascot during the opening bell ceremony for the first trading session of Lunar New Year 2026.
The exchange introduced the bull as its new official symbol, representing upward momentum in the stock market. Bulls and bears are widely used to reflect market trends, with the bull symbolizing rising prices and the bear representing price declines.
The mascot was inspired by the Dakmin bull. It reflects growth, determination, and investor confidence in the stock market’s sustainable development, which serves as an important driver of economic growth, Nguyen Thi Viet Ha, general director of HOSE.
The new bull replaces a previous statue displayed at the exchange’s headquarters. The design is modeled after bull symbols associated with major stock markets such as New York.
HOSE also introduced a new blue granite nameplate at its headquarters during the ceremony. A representative of the exchange stated that the nameplate reflects the core values of fairness, transparency, and disclosure, aiming to strengthen investor confidence and enhance the market’s credibility among domestic and foreign participants.
The event took place as the securities sector marks 30 years of development in 2026.
Vu Thi Chan Phuong, chairwoman of the State Securities Commission, said that 2026 will be an important year as the market moves from meeting emerging market criteria toward stable and sustainable operations under emerging market standards. She added that regulators will focus on building a safe, transparent, stable, and resilient market capable of adapting to deeper integration.
