HCMC – A mural along Nguyen Huu Canh Street in HCMC is drawing crowds of young people eager to take photos.

The 600-meter-long mural covers over 2,600 square meters along a wall near Thi Nghe Bridge, and adjacent to the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens and Saigon University. It is part of the “Beautiful Vietnam” urban revitalization initiative and has been certified as the country’s largest mural.

As the 20th installment in the “Beautiful Vietnam” series launched by the city’s police department, the mural replaces aged surfaces and removes illegal ads.

The artwork depicts iconic Vietnamese scenes, such as fighter jets departing from Bien Hoa Airport, military formations, and a re-creation of the 50th-anniversary parade marking the liberation of the south and the reunification of the nation.

Inaugurated on August 19 to commemorate the August Revolution and ahead of the 80th National Day, the mural aims to inspire pride and preserve historical memory, all while offering a vibrant new backdrop for public engagement.
